👉 When bonding to ceramic tiles, it may be necessary to reinforce the installation with a professional mounting adhesive.
This depends strongly on the type of tiles:
✔ smooth, even, glazed tiles → the self-adhesive backing is usually sufficient
⚠ textured or porous tiles, heavily profiled surfaces or deep joints → reduced adhesion possible
➡ In such cases we expressly recommend using a suitable mounting adhesive (e.g. a flexible hybrid or assembly adhesive) to ensure a durable, secure hold.
This information is essential for the long-term durability of the wall covering.
Notes on the substrate
For optimal adhesion, the surface should be:
✔ clean
✔ dry
✔ smooth
✔ grease-free
✔ stable / load-bearing
⚠ On highly absorbent or porous substrates (e.g. untreated wood, MDF, OSB, chipboard or textured walls), additional bonding with mounting adhesive is also recommended: PATTEX DK FLEX 1000.
